Scott Maurer’s medical career began as a Navy Hospital Corpsman. His interest in medicine caused him to focus his studies on science and biology. During college, Scott continued in the active Naval Reserve and worked as a Pediatric Laboratory Technician and LPN.

After graduation, he started his clinical research career working as a Phase I Biopharmaceutics Research Scientist for Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals. During his tenure he hung up his lab coat and moved to Phase II-IV Research, building value and experience by working in various therapeutic areas as an employee and later as an independent contractor expanding his career.

Since each project is different, his diversity of therapeutic areas has given him a deep insight into the FDA approval process. His experience in pharmaceutics, gene therapy, biologics, and medical devices has allowed him to understand the regulatory process much better than an employee working at one company monitoring a single product. This experience is invaluable to his clients as he can foresee mistakes quickly and can head off costly errors that would otherwise be missed.

Although he has held positions of management and welcomes long-term commitments, Scott enjoys his status as an Independent Research Consultant and continues helping companies through the complexities of the clinical research process.

Scott is a trained EMT and First Responder and volunteers his services regularly to his community.
